Dozens of area artists have brush with fame in L-A college exhibit
LEWISTON – Artwork by 73 adults and children, all students of local art teacher Mercedes Gastonguay, will be featured in an annual exhibit in the Atrium Art Gallery at Lewiston-Auburn College.
The display of oils, ink and pencil drawings, pastels, scratchboard and watercolors opens Friday, July 16, from 7 to 9 p.m., and continues through Aug. 20.
Students work from still lifes in the studio, on-location landscapes and photographs, and from works by well-known artists. The show includes portraits, landscapes, still lifes, wildlife studies, seascapes and floral studies.
Artists in the exhibition: Elizabeth Aguilar, Megan Beliveau, Peter Bernard, Sara Biron, Amanda Blais, Ronald Bosse, Jessica Brooks, Kristen Brooks, September Brooks, Michael Butler, Sue Caron, Evan Carrier, Nikki Chouinard and Moriah Churchill.
