DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for all the information you provide to us. Do you know why the weather articles on the back page of the first section in the paper have recently changed? I’ve noticed that the format is different and the national weather for prominent cities is no longer displayed. I really miss this feature as I like to scan certain cities to keep track of various relatives scattered around the country. Please tell me that this new format is only a trial? DEAR SUN SPOTS: We redesigned the weather page a couple of weeks ago to make better use of that back page space, brightening the graphics and creating a design that can shift to accommodate ads.
The “Around the nation” temperatures for various cities runs at the bottom of the page now and, since the redesign on May 17, has twice been shortened to accommodate ads but otherwise has run in full.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am hoping someone can help us. We are trying to find an email address or a phone number for Bil Mosca. He is the man who held an essay contest for the Center Lovell Inn. In an article we read, Mr. Mosca can be hired to consult on such a contest. — No Name, No Town.
ANSWER: Last year, Bil and his wife Susie Mosca penned a book, “Passing Along a Dream,” on their now famous contest that offered the Center Lovell Inn as the prize. The couple enjoyed 20 years of ownership of the inn before passing along their dream to contest winner Janice Sage. And, since, similar contests have popped up all over the country — including the one Sage used to continue the tradition in 2015.
The last contact information Sun Spots has for the Moscas is bilandsusie@passingalongadream.com. Sun Spots did try to reach out to the couple but has yet to hear back from them regarding if they are still available for consultation. They also have a Facebook page that shows occasional activity, with the most recent being just a few weeks ago.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: LA Arts is seeking volunteers from the community to help with the first Art Walk of the season. The organization is seeking individuals to help with hosting spaces and general setup and cleanup.
