TOPSHAM – The Midcoast Symphony, which is preparing for its upcoming concert season, hopes to augment its string section – especially with violins and violas.

Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings in Mount Ararat Middle School.

This season, the 60-member ensemble will play four concerts at the Franco-American Heritage Center in St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston. The first concert, slated for Oct. 30, will be a benefit program for the center.
