PORTLAND — Police and divers are suspending a search for a Scarborough man believed to have fallen into Portland Harbor.
The Portland Press Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1rtAAwa ) that authorities had been using sonar to assist divers in trying to find 23-year-old Matthew Foster, who was last seen June 10. The search was suspended Friday.
Portland police say the investigation remains open and they will continue trying to retrace Foster’s movements.
Police dogs tracked his scent to the water on Wednesday, and a cadaver dog indicated to officers that a body was in the water.
Authorities spent more than 10 hours searching for Foster on Thursday.
