1948 – 2016

SOOKE, British Columbia — Kenneth Morissette of Sooke, British Columbia, Canada, died Friday, Sept. 23, unafraid and ready to meet his maker, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born July 21, 1948, at St. Come, Quebec, Canada, to Woodrow Morissette and Jeanne Lessard (Morissette) Cunningham. Ken was educated in Mexico schools and graduated from Mexico High School in 1966.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Later in life, Ken moved back to his country of birth, Canada, and chose Sooke, British Columbia, as his home, where he worked as a security guard. On March 23, 1996, he married Connie Cardinal, who survives.

Ken loved his family and especially loved “making music” with his daughter, Annie. He also loved his time spent in his garage, where he loved to putter. He had a sharp mind, a great sense of humor and a deep faith in God.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; and daughter, Antoinette “Annie” Morissette, currently living in Alberta, Canada, where they are near Connie’s family. Also surviving is his mother, Jeanne Cunningham of Rumford; a sister, Judy Lowell and husband, Paul, of Rumford; a brother, Carl “Chuck” Morissette of Mexico; a daughter, Spring Mason of Orangevale, Calif.; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Woodrow Morissette; and his brother, Henry Morissette.
