BANGOR (AP) — Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is coming to Bangor, Maine, to campaign for his former Democratic primary opponent Hillary Clinton.
Sanders, an independent, will appear at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on Friday morning. A spokesman for the Clinton campaign says Sanders will contrast Clinton’s economic plan with that of Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Sanders will also talk about raising the minimum wage, confronting climate change, making public college tuition free and reforming the criminal justice system.
Clinton defeated Sanders in a primary race that concluded in June and was followed by Sanders endorsing Clinton in July. The endorsement took place at a rally in New Hampshire.
Sanders has since sought to integrate some of his positions into the Clinton campaign and encouraged his supporters to vote for her.
