LEWISTON — The Great Falls Forum on Thursday, Nov. 17, will feature Bates College rhetoric professor Stephanie Kelley-Romano with a presentation titled “Post-Election Reflection: What Happened and Why.”

The program will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Lewiston Public Library.

Kelley-Romano, along with students from her Presidential Campaign Rhetoric class at Bates, will be taking an incisive look at this year’s U.S. presidential election. Their multimedia examination of the campaign will document and analyze what took place during this historic year.

Presidential Campaign Rhetoric is one of the most popular courses taught at Bates, especially during years like 2016, when real campaigns are underway. In addition to exploring the wide array of discourse that takes place in the various campaigns, the students also participate in an extensive “mock campaign” with two candidates and the involvement of many Bates students and classes well beyond the Rhetoric Department.

Admission is free to all Forum events and no reservations are required. This program is a bring-your-own brown-bag lunch. Coffee, tea and bottled water will be available at the library.

The Great Falls Forum is co-sponsored by Bates College, Lewiston Public Library and the Sun Journal.

The library is at 200 Lisbon St. at the corner of Pine Street.
