Coach: Shon Collins (fifth year)
Region: North
Last year’s record: 9-8-3 regular season, lost in Northern Maine regional semifinals
Returning athletes: Seniors — Allison MacKenzie (D), Angel Drouin (D), Kaylee Younk (D), Haley Frohlich (F), Mariah Vaillancourt (F), Madison Simard (F), Michaila Wilmot (F); Juniors — Saige Arseneault (F), Samantha Martineau (D); Sophomores — Taylor Cailler (F), Brianna Doucette (F), Delaney Morneau (F), Madison Cote (F).
Key losses: Madison DeRosa (F), Abby Roy (F), Sarah Hammond (G).
Promising newcomers: Freshmen — Maranda Guimond (G), Isabel Berube (F), Cassady Bussiere.
Season outlook: Collins said his team lacks the same depth that it’s had in previous years, but the Red Hornets make up for that in experience, with nine upperclassmen. All four defensemen are either seniors or juniors, and they’ll play in front of a new starting goalie in freshman Maranda Guimond, who Collins thinks will surprise some people. The Red Hornets hope to do that as a team as well.
