The Greyhounds made their return to Class B, and the christening of their new gym, worth the wait with a tournament appearance last year. They are hoping to improve upon that with an experienced, athletic roster.
Tyrese Joseph returns as the leading scorer (13.3 ppg) but he should get plenty of support. Jonah Sautter and Josh Huston lead what could be one of the stronger backcourts in the conference, but with numerous players capable of playing on the perimeter and in the paint, coach Jake Gentle will have a lot of options.
To make the most of their athleticism and versatility, the Greyhounds will need to play solid fundamentally.
“We’ve got to focus on defensive rotations and protecting the basketball,” he said. “We’ve also got to control the boards. We want to limit the other teams’ shots.”
