WILTON — Police say a Wilton man faces a charge of aggravated domestic violence assault after an incident escalated to an attempt to strangle a household member with his hands.
Andrew Ryder, 31, was arrested on the charge after police were called to his residence about 5:30 a.m. Friday morning, Wilton police officer Ethan Kyes said.
While cooking and playing video games, an argument developed, he said. The use of alcohol was a factor, he said.
The victim was injured but refused medical treatment.
Wilton police officer Efra Becerra made the arrest and was assisted at the scene by Farmington police officer Jesse Clement and Jay police officer Dylan Ryder, Kyes said.
