PORTLAND — Maine is expected to get hit by a nor’easter Thursday into Friday.
The storm is expected to move in Thursday afternoon.
The heaviest snow will be between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday.
This is a rapidly strengthening storm that will intensify over a 12 hour period.
The combination of heavy snow and strong gusty winds may create near blizzard like conditions for some parts of the state.
Strong winds may cause some power outages.
Inland communities could see between 8 and 14 inches of snow.
The immediate coast is expected to get 6 to 8 inches.
There is also a chance for splash over, which could cause some coastal flooding due to the high tide.
The storm is expected to move out Friday afternoon.
