1948 – 2017
FARMINGTON — Clifford L. “Bill” Adams, 68, a resident of Jay, died Friday, Jan. 6, at Sandy River Center, following a lingering illness.
He was born May 22, 1948, in Farmington, the son of Floyd Adams and Leona (Cochran) Adams. He was a graduate of Jay High School. On June 21, 1986, in Wilton, he married Lili Gauvin. Bill worked at Bass Shoe, Livermore Shoe and later as a payroll administrator for BE & K Construction.
He was a member of the Canton Masonic Lodge and a booster of AYS. Bill was also a bass guitar player, and through the years he played in Ray and the Five Dimensions, Two for the Road, Back Road Band and Alibi. He loved playing music, but he especially loved spending time with his family at family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lili Adams of Jay; his children, Christopher Adams and his wife, Ji Hee, of Guam, Andrea Adams Purvis of Dunedin, Fla., and Kathleen Adams of Jay, Aaron Adams and his wife, Renee, of Gardiner, and Chris Duff and his wife, Kimberly, of Windham; grandchildren, Kiernan and Kailan Adams, Kendall and Kinsley Purvis, Kyle Coombs, Jacob and Julia Burns and Kamden and Kade Masselli; and his beloved best friend, Trixie. He is also survived by his brothers, Butch Adams and his wife, Nancy, of Jay, and Jim Adams of Chesterville; his beloved in-laws, Marielle and partner, Robert, Lynn and Lionel Fournier, Yvan Gauvin, Yoland Gauvin and wife, Cindy, Frances Savage, Jim and Chantal Jacques and Dan and Paula Deshaies.
He was predeceased by his father, Floyd Adams; his mother, Leona DiSotto; stepfather, Henry DiSotto; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Armand and Rejeanne Gauvin; sister-in-law, Diane Bourgault and her husband, Marcel Bourgault; and brother-in-law, Coco Gauvin.
