GRAY — Chelsea Davis scampered around the bases in the bottom of the seventh to give Gray-New Gloucester a 5-4 victory over Cape Elizabeth.
She reached first base on a dropped third strike, stole second, reached third on a passed ball and scored on a fielder’s choice to give the Patriots (5-5) a walkoff win.
Alison Martell tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run double. In the circle, she struck out nine Capers (5-4) while allowing six hits and one walk.
Jessica Robicheaw had 10 strikeouts and only allowed two hits, both to Martell. She also had two hits, as did Kelly O’Sullivan.
Lewiston 7, Cony 3
AUGUSTA — Lexi Poulin was a home run away from the cycle and drove in two runs in Lewiston’s 7-3 victory on Cony.
Danielle Cyr had a double and two RBIs in the victory while Emily Mousseau had a double and an RBI. Megan Theriault and Jordyn Rubin had a pair of hits for the Blue Devils. Meagan Gosselin had an RBI.
Lewiston had four runs top of the first.
Delaney Keithley, Carly Lettre and Alexis Couverettes each had two hits for the Rams.
Baseball
Lewiston 4, Cony 3
AUGUSTA — Evan Cox helped his own cause in a 4-3 victory over Cony in a KVAC baseball game Thursday.
Cox went six innings on the mound while going 2-for-4 at the plate, including a double. He scored the tying and go-ahead runs. Hunter Landry had three hits while Dalton Wing had a pair of hits and a run scored for the Blue Devils.
Lewiston (7-5) scored twice in the top of the fourth and once each in the fifth and the seventh innings.
Jack LeBlond came on in the seventh to pick up his second save in two days.
Taylor Heath had two hits for the Rams (1-10) who scored all their runs in the first inning.
Hall-Dale 7, Lisbon 6
LISBON — In a back-and-forth affair, Hall-Dale defeated Lisbon 7-6 in an MVC contest.
Akira Warren had three hits, including a double and two runs scored. Austin Stebbins had two hits while Jacob Brown and Tim Cookson each had a double. Cookson’s came in the top of the seventh that scored a run for the Bulldogs (7-4).
Cole Bolduc had three hits, two runs scored and an RBI for the Greyhounds (8-3). Tyler Halls and Noah Austin each went 2-for-4.
Bridgeway 12, Monmouth 4
MONMOUTH — Bridgeway hitters smacked five consecutive hits with two houts in the fifth inning to break open a tight game and lift the Bandits to a 12-4 win over Monmouth in MVC baseball action Thursday.
Aaron Morgan led the offensive onslaught with four hits for Bridgeway (9-3), while Ryan Emery earned the win on the mound.
Hunter Richardson had a pair of hits, including a double, for Monmouth (8-4), which had just tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fourth before the Madison/Carrabec co-op exploded for five in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
Cape Elizabeth 5, Gray-NG 1
GRAY — Cape Elizabeth answered a run in the bottom of the first with three of its own in the top of the second and never looked back, posting a 5-1 win over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC baseball action Thursday.
Brendan Tinsman ripped a pair of hits for the Capers (5-6), including a home run in the fifth inning. Derek Mello also belted a double in the win.
The Patriots (4-7) managed just two hits in support of pitcher Zach Mann, who struk out five in the loss.
Boys’ Lacrosse
Messalonskee 14, Edward Little 5
OAKLAND — Austin Pelletier scored seven goals to lead Messlonskee to a 14-5 victory over Edward Little.
Connor Smith had a hat trick while Trevor McCray had a pair of goals. Alden Balboni and Colin Kinney each had for the Eagles (6-3).
Spencer Frahn led EL (5-4) with two goals. Eli McBride, Ganan Mancini and Alex Landry had a goal for the Red Eddies.
Girls Lacrosse
Cape Elizabeth 14, St. Dom’s 10
CAPE ELIZABETH — Caroline Gastonguay had three goals and an assist in St. Dom’s 14-10 loss to Cape Elizabeth.
Emma Theriault had two goals and an assist, Rileigh Stebbins and Kristina Cornelio each had two goals for the Saints. Avery Lutrzykowski had a goal and two assists in the loss.
Abigail Slonina and Simone Long combined to make seven saves.
