FARMINGTON — George L. Lee, 85, formerly of Canton, died Saturday, July 22, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.
He was born Jan. 23, 1932, on Turkey Lane in Livermore, the middle son of Clyde Lee and Elsie (Gordon) Lee. On July 5, 1952, he married Marylyn York of Canton, his wife of 65 years. Marylyn recently passed on July 14. As a young man George delivered milk, became a licensed oil burner technician, and later operated heavy machinery for Dragon and Cianbro Corp. He was a quiet man who took great pride and enjoyment in his garden and extensive raspberry beds. He enjoyed snowmobiling, coin collecting, basket weaving, playing pool and cribbage.
He’s survived by loving daughter Bonnie Lee Brown of Industry, grandsons Ethan Brown of Denver and Isaac Brown of Wrentham, Mass., and great-grandson Kyle Brown, also of Wrentham, whom he would have adored. He’s also survived by his devoted sisters Ellen Chamberlain of Canton and Carolyn Adams of Auburn and brothers Clayton and Roger Lee of Livermore, and Sherman Lee of Gardiner. George was predeceased by beloved daughter Vickie Lynn and wife, Marylyn, and brothers Milford, Clifton and Erlon.
The family would like to thank Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center and Beacon Hospice for the compassionate care they gave to George.
