FARMINGTON — Farmington Public Library is featuring works by photographers Jo Josephson and Cindy Rehagen Langewisch during August and September.
Josephson, of Temple, said she works in black and white photography “… because it’s where stark contrast, subtle shadows, strong lines, shape and texture rule.” It’s also “where the object is freed from the distraction of color.”
She has an extensive background in agriculture-related work and many of her works reflect this interest.
Langewisch resides in East Livermore. An analogue photographer, she makes her images in natural available light in the out of doors and utilizes black and white negative films. All of the images were captured in Central and Western Maine as she pursued her love of streams, rivers, and waterfalls.
Each photographer is donating a piece to be raffled by the library at the end of September. Raffle tickets are $1 each or $5 for 10. Winners will be notified by phone.
