AUBURN — A three-car garage at 897 Riverside Drive was demolished Saturday night after it caught fire, according to Auburn Fire Chief Geoff Low.
The fire was reported around 6:30 p.m.
No one was injured in the blaze, but an ATV and some recreational vehicles were destroyed, Low said.
The single-family home attached to the garage was untouched, other than some minor cosmetic damage to the siding.
The fire is believed to have started at the back of the garage, Low said, adding that it didn’t look suspicious. The cause is under investigation.
Responders knocked down the fire within 45 minutes but the whole structure had to be dug out to eliminate hot spots.
Central Maine Power was able to isolate the power so residents were able stay in their homes.
Fire departments from Auburn, Lewiston, Durham, New Gloucester, Turner and Minot responded to the scene.
