AUBURN — Pauline D. Turmenne, 97, a resident of Lewiston, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, at the Hospice House following a long illness with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Lisbon on Dec. 9, 1919, the daughter of Charles and Julia (Blanchette) Dick.
Pauline was married for 68 years to Vital Turmenne, who died in 2011. Together they raised their family in various states and in Europe, while her husband served in the military for 28 years, after which they moved back to Lewiston with family.
Pauline enjoyed life and was very social. She was a golfer, bowler, card player and multi-talented crafter. She was an avid Patriots fan who never missed a game.
She was happiest with her family and was always in close contact with all, no matter how far they all were. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, including her beloved Vito.
Survivors include one son, Paul Turmenne and wife, Billie, of Huntsville, Ala.; two daughters, Connie Slowey and husband, Tom, of Bourne, Mass., and Dee Dion and Dan Briggs of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Michelle Parker and Sabrina Richmond of Texas, Suzanne Kilgore of Idaho, as well as Robert Dion of Lewiston, and Courtney Dion of North Carolina; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Maurice.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Clover Health Care and Androscoggin Hospice for such wonderful care of Pauline during her illness.
