Local architect Bill Hamilton, right, who is overseeing the ongoing restoration project at the Woman’s Literary Union in Auburn, and Tom Bragg, left, of Bragg Masonry in Sumner look into a hole on the steps of the nearly 100-year-old building on Elm Street on Wednesday afternoon. Bragg plans to remove the top two or three granite steps and shore up the foundation. He is also repairing the structural damage done to the retaining wall and carriage house for an upcoming centennial celebration and fundraising gala at the mansion in November.
