MEXICO — The Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages & Lottery Operations will hold a hearing on a liquor license renewal for Tommy Guns Pit Stop at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Town Office, Town Manager Jack Gaudet said.

Selectmen voted 5-0 at a July 18 hearing to deny the application to the bar at 45 Roxbury Road. Owner Clarence “Tommy” Tompkins was not at the hearing.

Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said his department received 14 calls — more than during all of 2016 — and made three arrests there this year.

Selectmen asked Gaudet to write a letter to the state licensing board explaining the issues and to include the documentation from the Police Department.

A liquor license can be withdrawn under seven conditions, Gaudet said. The town is looking at the condition of disturbing the peace. He said Hodsdon will be asked to attend the state hearing.
