New Ventures Maine will hold free workshops for people interested in starting their own business but are not sure how.
Workshops will be held in Mechanic Falls, Turner and in Lewiston.
The two-hour workshops cover the pros and cons of owning a business, the steps needed for startup, the major elements of a business plan, and the many resources available to help the business succeed. They will be led by Karleen Andrews, microenterprise specialist for the Western Region of New Ventures Maine.
In Mechanic Falls, the workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Regional School Unit 16 Adult Education, 129 Elm St.
In Turner, the workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at School Administrative District 52 Adult Education, 486 Turner Center Road.
In Lewiston, the workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.
