DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Friends of the West Paris Library are looking for donations of handmade crafts and baked goods for their Fall Festival on Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Historical Society across from the library on Main Street.
If you are a crafter, enjoy baking, or have spare books around the house and are willing to donate any of these items to help with this Fall Festival sale, they may be dropped off at the library during open hours before Oct. 14.
The event will include the annual used book sale. All proceeds will go to library programs and projects. Free coffee, hot cider and music will add to the festivities. In addition, six beautiful themed baskets will be raffled off. These baskets will be on display and tickets may be purchased at the library beginning Sept. 15.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Could you provide me with any information you may have about the Broadview Memorial Cemetery on East Avenue? I was curious because of its location. I have lived in Lewiston all my life and have not heard of ceremonies taking place. Thank you. — No name, Lewiston
ANSWER: Broadview Memorial Cemetery is at 379 East Ave. (nearly right across from Radio Circle). The cemetery is a bit of a hidden secret with its country-like setting within the city.
The friendly and informative Joseph Nota, past chairman of the Broadview Memorial Cemetery Association and former director of the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery System, is the one to call for more information. He can be reached at 783-6839.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Townhouse Meal Site in the Townhouse Apartments on School Street in Rangeley operates a lunchtime meal delivery service to those in need. They are looking for volunteer drivers who are each responsible for a given day per week. The drivers pick up the meals at the Townhouse Meal Site around 11 a.m. Deliveries are usually completed by noon.
Volunteers do not need to commit to being in town 365 days per year. When someone needs to be away, they work with other drivers to ensure their day is covered.
