1921 – 2003

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Leonard Margolin, 81, of Pembroke Pines in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, May 20, following a short illness.

He was born in Auburn on Oct. 20, 1921, a son of Samuel and Celia Margolin. He graduated from Edward Little High School and the University of Denver and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in New Guinea.

He lived in Miami for most of his life and recruited farm workers from the Caribbean, many of whom worked for apple orchards in Maine. He was a loving father, grandfather, and uncle and will be sadly missed by his family.

He is survived by his two daughters, Debbie Rosier and Suzi Margolin both of Florida; four grandchildren, Jacob, Aaron, Lauren and Joshua; niece, Marla Forman of North Easton, Mass.; and nephews, Sandor Margolin of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Lee Margolin of Harrison.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Morris, Lawrence, and Irving Margolin; and a sister, Phyllis Zack.
