1937 – 2003
LEWISTON — Anesti Spiro, 65, of Auburn, died shortly after sunrise Wednesday morning, April 2, at CMMC in Lewiston. He passed as a result of complications due to acute leukemia.
He was born in Lewiston on May 9, 1937, to Tasi and Nastasi (Naum) Spiro. He graduated from Edward Little H.S. in Auburn in 1956. That same year he met his future bride Beverly Simmons. They were married on Oct. 3, 1959. He served in the Army for several years in Germany.
Upon his return from active duty they moved to southern California, where they resided for 15 years. During that time his only son, Richard was born.
While in California he worked for 10 years in the metallurgical field, then moved on to a career in real estate. When he returned to Auburn he continued to be active in real estate, expanding into various areas of property development and management.
He had a zeal for all aspects of life, determined to make the most of whatever situation he found himself in. He enjoyed traveling across the country with his family. This allowed him to include his other favorite hobbies, photography and antique cars. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 43 years, Beverly Spiro.
Other survivors include son, Richard and fiancée Gabrielle who gave him three grandsons, Elijah, Lucas, and Ezekiel; brother, Andrea Spiro and his wife Danielle of Auburn; in-laws, Pearl Simmons, Tom and Brenda Mower, all of Auburn; three nephews; one niece; as well as the many members of his extended family and many friends.
