LEWISTON —  Maine Event Comedy presents “Funniest Comic in New England” finalist Kyron Hobdy at Baxter Brewing, Friday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. The show will also feature Janet McNamara, Bill Picard, Mike Gray and Cyrstal Bernard.

Hobdy, who regularly works with Maine comedy legend Bob Marley, mixes life experience with self-effacing humor. The Windham resident was a recent selection to the “World Series of Comedy” in Las Vegas. He’s performed at Nick’s Comedy Stop in Boston, the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion and Comix at Mohegan Sun.

McNamara, from Boston, has been winning over New England audiences with her conversational style and awkwardly charming energy. She won the 2014 BeanTown Comedy Riot and appeared on season 10 of NBC’s “American Idol.”

Born with cerebral palsy and confined to a wheelchair, Picard uses his physical disability to both educate and entertain. He was a finalist in “Portland’s Funniest Professional Contest.”

Gray is quickly making a name for himself in the Portland scene, dispelling preconceived notions about his appearance while shedding light on a variety objectionable topics.

Bernard is a newcomer to the Maine scene and enjoys sharing tales of hot tubs, Las Vegas getaways and her unconventional occupation.

The 21-and-over show is free.
