FRYEBURG– Asbury Shorts, New York’s longest-running short film exhibition, returns to the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. to present their nationally recognized Asbury Short Film Concert.

Asbury film “concerts” combine classic, world-renowned films with new festival honorees, providing a rare opportunity to see internationally honored selections on a real cinema screen rather than YouTube or smart phones. Academy Award-nominated director Jason Reitman (“JUNO,” “Up in the Air,” “Thank You for Smoking”) calls Asbury, “The best short film show I’ve ever seen.” Highlights of the Nov. 10 show include:

“Reaching Home,” a new drama from Connecticut-based director Kenneth Murphy. Emmy and Tony Award-winner Debra Monk stars as a widow who has to make tough decisions with her family while dealing with the recent loss of her husband after a long marriage.

“The Lunch Date” is a former Academy Award-winner for “Best Live Action Short Film” directed by Adam Davidson, who is now a prolific director of national network and streaming television shows.

“2nd Life” is a new feel-good story from director Jake Alexander McAfee and producer Daryl Sledge of New York City. Acclaimed producer, writer, and actor Doug E. Doug stars as an immigrant working many jobs to help his family survive.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Pre-order online at www.fryeburgacademy.org/pac, or call the box office at 207-935-9232. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the show when the box office opens at 6:30 pm. The theater is located at 18 Bradley St.
