Traffic jams and accidents waiting to happen. I guess I’m curious to know why there isn’t a third lane, (at least after the Dunlap building on Court Street) at the corner of Turner and Court streets for the vehicles turning onto Turner coming from Lewiston on the Longley Bridge or those vehicles coming from Main Street in Auburn turning left at the light onto Court Street. The lane would ease the flow of traffic.
At peak hours, this is an extremely congested area, with vehicles at times bumper to bumper without anywhere to go after having gone through a green light, and that’s not even to mention all the vehicles I’ve seen going through the lights when they’ve already turned red.
With the reconstruction of Great Falls Plaza, it seems people are using Court Street more to turn onto Turner Street.
I feel it would be better to cut down the extra-wide sidewalk at the corner of Court and Turner streets for a third lane. At least it would ease some of the congestion.
