Just call me sensitive and merciful but, the other day, I bought several stamps to mail some letters. The stamps had a picture of Korean War soldiers walking through the snow. Then, I thought of the Vietnam War soldiers walking through the rice paddies in the pouring rain and hot, humid temperature. Then, I think of the war in Iraq and the Civil War. What a name. Nothing civil about that.
I said that to say this, I really appreciate being able to buy those stamps and have the freedom to mail those letters. Our Constitution was written by men who believed in this great nation, as Abe Lincoln said, “Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.”
Freedom is free but it costs.
Ask the one who just lost a loved one, or a leg, or an arm, or a family, or a marriage.
So, I will say like our forefathers intended, God, the real God, bless America but first, America bless God by honoring him. Thank you men and women who fought so I could say this.
