With regard to the recent clamor to vote yes on Question 1A in an effort to lower property taxes, citizens should bear in mind that property tax is the only way in which out-of-state seasonal property owners pay their fair share of state expenses. They otherwise enjoy all the benefits of living here and pay none of the costs.
