BELFAST – Oak Hill rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to squeeze past Belfast for a 9-7 victory Tuesdday in KVAC baseball action Tuesday.
Justin Plourde ripped four hits and had two RBIs to pace Oak Hill. Mike Eaton added three hits for the Raiders (3-4), while Devon Eaton had two. Mike Eaton stepped onto the mound in the seventh inning and picked up the win.
Brendan Gardner and Zack Carr led Belfast (0-7) with doubles, while Thad Hill suffered the loss, allowing five runs in the first three innings.
Mt. Abram 10, Liv. Falls 7
SALEM – Sam Witherspoon and Travis O’Neil belted three hits apiece to pace Mt. Abram to a 10-7 victory over Livermore Falls in MVC baseball action Tuesday.
Jordan Norton scattered nine hits in a complete-game effort to notch the win.
Kevin Keene led the Andies (5-5) with three hits and two RBIs, while Tyler Cote had two hits. Dane Hanson suffered the loss, allowing seven runs in the first four innings.
Monmouth 12, Winthrop 2
WALES – Scott Ogden went 4-for-4 and had two RBIs to lead Monmouth to an 8-1 victory over Winthrop.
The game had to be played at Oak Hill due to wet conditions in Monmouth.
The Mustangs erupted for six runs in the second inning to quickly put the game out of reach.
Sean Holbrook and Devyn Robbins chipped in for the Mustangs (8-1) with two hits and two RBIs apiece. Ben Seefeldt scattered three hits in five innings of work to notch the win.
Tavis Hasenfus led the Ramblers (5-2) with two hits, while starting pitcher Chip Burnham suffered the loss.
