BETHEL – Jessie Farrington’s two-run double in the third inning carried Telstar to a 12-2 MVC softball victory over Carrabec on Friday afternoon.

The victory kept the Rebels (11-2) in position to win the league championship. Liz Rosenberg drove in three runs, and Kayla Mills led off a fourth-inning with a triple.

Dirigo 5, Mountain Valley 1

DIXFIELD-Angie Fenstermacher smashed a three run homer in the first inning for Dirigo, sparking the Cougars to a 5-1 MVC win over Mountain Valley.

Jessica Blaisdell also blasted two doubles for the Cougars (10-4) in the fourth and sixth innings to back Fenstermacher’s five-hit pitching.

Kristin Arsenault and Kaly Bernard combined for four hits for the Falcons (4-8).

Winthrop 12, Boothbay 0

BOOTHBAY HARBOR- Nine hits in the fifth inning propelled Winthrop to a 12-0 MVC shutout of Boothbay.

Katie Wing struck out six and belted doubles in the first and fifth innings for Winthrop (8-4). Heather Babb and Nikki Emery each banged out a two-bagger.

Livermore Falls 11, Lisbon 4

LIVERMORE FALLS – Valen Richard’s three-run home run and Danielle Gray’s two-run double powered an eight-run outburst in the sixth inning as Livermore Falls downed Lisbon, 11-4, in MVC action.

Lisbon (2-11) held a 4-3 lead going into the big inning. Jenn Smith, Cassandra Purrington, and Gray also had extra-base hits for Livermore Falls (6-8), all doubles. Taryn Flagg and Richard each had three hits for the Andies.

Gray fanned four, allowing just three hits to earn the win.

Oak Hill 15, Mt. View 0

WALES – Emily Grondin and Danielle Sargent each launched a grand slam as Oak Hill pounded Mt. View, 15-0 in a five-inning KVAC contest.

The Raiders (11-5) pounded out 13 hits.

Ashley Lamoreau was 3-for-3 while Grondin and Sargent were each 3-for-4. Grondin also recorded a triple.

Julie Lizotte improved her record to 8-2, struck out 10.

Bonny Eagle 8, Edward Little 5

AUBURN- Amber Budzsky belted a bases-clearing double in the seventh and a bases-loaded triple in the 10th inning as Bonny Eagle handed Edward Little a heartbreaking 8-5 SMAA loss.

Jess Arnold also ripped a double in the seventh to tie the game for the Scots (10-6).

Deanna Maxim slapped three hits and an RBI for EL (8-7).

Baseball

Oak Hill 3, Mt. View 0

WALES-Oak Hill’s Mike Daggett cranked a two-run triple in the sixth inning to propel the Raiders to a 3-0 KVAC baseball win over Mt. View.

Pat Duchette (4-0) struck out eight. Adam Labbe fanned two in the seventh to record the save.

Girls’ lacrosse

Mountain Valley 19, Lincoln 7

NEWCASTLE- Heidi Lowell, Sam Johnson and Jessica Hanson each scored four goals apiece to lead Mountain Valley to a 19-7 girls’ lacrosse victory over Lincoln.

Jessica Allen added three goals, while Allison Byard, Diana Burke, Gail Manson and Amanda Michaud each chalked up one apiece.

Mountain Valley amassed a record 41 shots on goal.

Meg Dyzak scored five goals for the Eagles.
