AUBURN — Felix R. James, known to friends and family as “Bob,” passed away at the age of 84 on Wednesday, Dec. 13. Bob was born in Lewiston on Aug. 26, 1933, the son of Lester James and Mathilda Pinette. Bob served in the United States Air Force for 21 years.
He will be remembered for always showing up to places with a smile on his face and sweets in his pockets, especially his famous peanut butter fudge. Some of his hobbies include completing puzzles, gardening, watching football, going for rides in hot air balloons, taste-testing the local baked sweets, collecting eagle and lighthouse figurines and spending quality time with his friends and family. Bob will be fondly remembered by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his three children, Richard R. James, Catherine M. Lavigne-Matos and Patricia A. Rice and her husband, David A. Rice; five grandchildren, Tonya Largay and husband, Tim Largay, Kelly James and Andrew James and wife, Katie Grant, Lauren Lavigne and Loretta Rice; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Lester James and Mathilda Pinette; brothers, Freddie James, Arthur James and George James; sister, Alice Tremaine; daughter-in-law, Theresa James; and son-in-law, Rick Matos.
