DAVENPORT, Fla,. — Robert M. Levesque Sr., 68, of Jeremy Drive, Davenport, died Saturday, Dec. 9, at his home, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Lewiston on April 27, 1949, the only son and youngest child of Amedee and Viola (Petrin) Levesque. On Sept. 25, 1971, Robert married the love of his life, Mildred (Foster) Levesque. Together they resided in Lewiston, where they raised their three sons. Robert was an employee of Penmor Lithographers until 1998, when he relocated with his wife to Florida.
Robert enjoyed playing guitar and was a member of a band, The Uniques, in the 1960s. The band was known for Saturday nights at The Pal Hop, and this is where Robert met the love of his life.
Robert was a devoted father who spent many nights helping with science projects, Halloween costumes and sometimes experiments just for fun. He was known for his creativity and unique gardening skills. He was Cub master of Pack 116 at Holy Cross. His most quoted phrase is, “Don’t tell your mother about this.”
Robert devoted his life to helping others, always the handyman on whom you could count. He was a man of few words but a person of many kind gestures. He cherished his family and loved nothing more than the time they all spent together.
Mr. Levesque is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mildred Levesque; his sons: Robert Levesque Jr. and his wife, Cathy, of Wales; BoJon Levesque and his wife, Lindsey, of Davenport, Fla.; and Jeremy Levesque and his wife, Yuriko, of Windermere, Fla. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Kiara, Kaiden, Kai, Tristen, Ian and Dean; two sisters: Therese Bernard of New Hampshire and Dolores Corson of Sabattus; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Claudette.
