RANGELEY — Down 12 points in the fourth quarter, the Rangeley Lakers went on a 22-5 run in the fourth quarter to defeat Kents Hill 50-43 in a girls’ basketball game Friday.
Natasha Hailey had a double-double for the Lakers (12-2), scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Vanessa Bisson added 11 points in the win.
Lauren Murray led all scorers with 19 points for the Huskies (9-4). Tiffany McGhie contributed 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Vinalhaven 72, Buckfield 30
BUCKFIELD — Gilleyanne Davis-Oakes paced Vinalhaven, putting up 30 points in a 72-30 victory over Buckfield in girls’ basketball action Friday.
Deja Doughty had 13 points and Paige Dennison had 12 points for the Vikings (15-0) in the victory.
Deja Bennett led the Bucks (1-11) with 12 points.
Madison 60, Dirigo 37
MADISON — Senior guard Sydney LeBlanc scored a game-high 13 points as Madison tugged out a 60-37 victory over Dirigo in girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Bulldogs (12-2) applied full-court pressure and caused many turnovers in the outing. Lauren Hay and Lauria LeBlanc posted 10 points apiece for Madison.
Junior forward Sophia Jacques had a team-leading 12 points for the Cougars (4-8) in the losing effort.
Greely 66, Gray-New Gloucester 58
GRAY — Camille Clement and Anna DeWolfe pounded out 25 points each as Greely earned a 66-58 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in girls’ basketball Friday evening.
Jordan Grant registered 22 points and Bri Jordan chipped in with another 16 points to lead the Patriots.
Brooke Obar scored 12 points as the Rangers rallied from a three-point halftime deficit.
Unified basketball
Lewiston 48, Poland 47
POLAND — Lewiston opened the unified basketball season with a 48-47 win over Poland on Friday.
Theresa Morin and Breck Gagnon paced a balanced Blue Devils attack with 10 points each.
The Knights trailed 26-20 halftime before rallying back in the second half. Logan Flewelling topped Poland with 23 points, and David Ellington added 16.
Boys’ basketball
Buckfield 48, Vinalhaven 23
BUCKFIELD — Zack Grover had 18 points and eight rebounds to lead Buckfield to a 48-23 victory in a boys’ basketball contest Friday.
Ethan Jackson had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Bucks (5-8). Buckfield had 14 steals as a team.
Timothy Farrelly led the Vikings (3-13) with five points, while Mitchell Hopkins had four.
Mountain Valley 62, Oak Hill 50
RUMFORD — Keegan Davis notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds as Mountain Valley collected a 62-50 victory over Oak Hill in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Falcons (9-6) were trailing 46-41 after three quarters. The offense swooped down in the forth, going on a 21-4 run in the quarter.
Darryn Bailey secured a team-high 15 points for the Raiders (5-10).
Lisbon 69, Telstar 53
LISBON — Senior guard Jonah Sautter compiled 25 points to lead Lisbon to a 69-53 triumph over Telstar in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Greyhounds (8-7) picked up the tempo in the second half, adding 10 points to their halftime lead. Sean Scott posted 19 points on seven field goals for Lisbon.
Sean forward Jarrett Bean tossed a team-leading 24 points for the Rebels.
Madison 48, Dirigo 36
MADISON — Senior forward Matt Oliver produced 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to lead Madison to a 48-36 victory over Dirigo in boys’ basketball action Friday.
The contest was all locked up at 28-28 after three quarters. Oliver made two big 3-point field goals in the fourth quarter for the Bulldogs (8-7).
Junior forward Jacob Meader pitched in with eight points, seven rebounds and performed well on defense for Madison.
Senior forward Cooper Chaisson tossed a team-leading 10 points for the Cougars (10-5).
