BETHEL — It was an offensive outburst for Telstar in a 69-51 victory over Mt. Abram in a boys’ MVC boys’ basketball contest.

Jarrett Bean led the way with 23 points along with 18 rebounds and five assists. Blake Rothwell nearly matched Bean with 22 points while grabbing 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Davin Mason had 15 points for the Rebels (6-11).

Sam Storer had a big game for the Roadrunners (1-16) with he had 27 points in the losing effort. Nate Luce chipped in with 11 points.

Rangeley 83, GPC 46

RANGELEY — Four different Lakers reached double digits as Rangeley defeated Greater Portland Christian Academy 83-46 in a boys’ basketball game Saturday.

Kenneth Thompson led the way with 23 points while Will Brey had 16 points. Kyle LaRochelle chipped in with 15 points while Boden Washington finished with 11 points in the contest.

Rangeley is now 9-7 on the season.

Mason Jones led all scorers with 29 points for the Lions (0-12).

Buckfield 43, Pine Tree Academy 33

BUCKFIELD — Senior forward Ethan Jackson registered a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead Buckfield to a 43-33 triumph over Pine Tree Academy in boys’ basketball action Saturday evening.

With a good defense and a fourth quarter push, the Bucks (9-8) sealed the deal on a 15-9 run. Junior guard Noah Wiley contributed a shared team-high 13 points for Buckfield.

Junior forward Jared Tamalea tossed a game-high 14 points on seven field goals for the Breakers  (9-8) in the losing effort.

Boys’ Hockey

Kennebunk/Wells 5, Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison 2

READFIELD — Jake Sullivan had a pair of goals to lead Kennebunk/Wells to a 5-2 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison in a Class B South boys’ hockey contest.

Walker Robinson had a goal and assist for the Rams (4-8) while Dean Church and Nate Jewett each had a goal.

Shane Tweedie had two goals for the Hawks (1-13).

Girls’ Baketball

Richmond 36, Hall-Dale 28

FARMINGDALE — Caitlin Kendrick and Sydney Tilton were the catalysts for Richmond as the Bobcats defeated Hall-Dale 36-28 in a girls’ MVC basketball contest.

They each had 12 points for the Bobcats (12-5). Kendrick finished with a double-double as she grabbed 13 rebounds.

Kayla Searles led the Bulldogs (5-12) with 10 points while Sabrina Freeman had five points while grabbing 10 boards.

Hebron 52, Islesboro 23

HEBRON — Junior guard Franceska Halloran scored 17 of her 22 points in the first half as Hebron chopped its way to a 52-23 victory over Islesboro in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Lumberjacks (12-3) went on a 22-3 tear in the second quarter for a 31-7 hafltime lead. Senior guard Maddy New contributed 17 points for Hebron.

The Eagles (2-9) were led by Emily Lau, who had 13 points on six field goals and a free throw in the losing effort.

Pine Tree Academy 51, Buckfield 31

BUCKFIELD — Junior guard Emily Schlisner recorded a game-high 23 pionts as Pine Tree Academy dispatched Buckfield 51-31 in girls’ basketball action Saturday evening.

The Breakers (4-12) got off to a big start, and led 32-11 at the break. Senior forward Agnes Miango contributed 13 points for Pine Tree Academy.

Freshman guard Siana Jacobs posted a team-leading eight points for the Bucks (1-15) in the losing effort.
