NORWAY — Children and youth from second grade and up are invited to register for the sixth season of the Community Children’s Theater.
Rehearsals and registration will begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the Second Congregational Church, 205 Main St.
Performers will learn lines, practice songs and choreograph dances at eight rehearsals from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays during March and April.
This year’s production, “Summer Camp” by John Jacobson and Matt Huff, will offer energetic songs such as “Bugs on Parade” and “It a Bear.” The performance date is Saturday, April 28.
Due to the continued support of the church, there is no cost for participation. Children and their families, however, will need to be dedicated to the production and faithful in attendance. No auditions and no church affiliations are required. All are welcome.
Shirli Allen-Heald of Norway and production assistants, Sharon Hollowell of West Paris, Kate Wood of Otisfield and Jean Saunders of South Paris, will continue the popular community program and are looking forward to helping develop the students’ talents as they learn how to become performers and supporters of the arts.
Allen, local performer, music director of the Second Congregational Church and owner/teacher at The Growing Place Day School, said, “I am very excited to continue this project. Children and youth from Woodstock, Paris, Norway, Oxford and Otisfield performed last year. This year’s group will be enhanced with the confidence of returning children/youth and the energy of new members.”
