CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -Mac Colville, who played on the New York Rangers’ Stanley Cup championship team in 1940, died at 87.

He died Tuesday, the NHL said.

Colville played right wing on a line with his older brother, Neil, and left wing Alex Shibicky. He spent nine years in the league and enjoyed his best season in 1940-41 when he had 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points. His missed three seasons serving in the Canadian armed forces during World War II.

and finished his career with 71 goals and 104 assists.

Colville’s death leaves only four surviving members of the 1939-40 Rangers – Shibicky, Clint Smith, Dutch Hiller and Alf Pike.
