New Ventures Maine is offering a two-hour, tuition-free workshop, Introduction to Self-employment, in April and May. The workshop is geared to those who are considering starting their own business.
The workshop covers the pros and cons of owning a business, the steps needed for startup, the major elements of a business plan and the many resources available to help with success.
The workshop will be led by Karleen Andrews, microenterprise specialist for the Western Region of New Ventures Maine.
The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 5, at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Regional School Unit 16 Adult Education, 129 Elm St., Mechanic Falls.
It will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at RSU 52 Adult Education, 486 Turner Center Road, Turner.
