Why do so few Lewiston residents vote?

Well, many senior citizens have disabilities and do not have transportation. Many are forgetful and unless someone comes to help them vote, voting is not going to happen.

Some people think that no matter what they vote for, it will not make any difference. So why bother to vote?

Many senior citizens have a difficult time understanding the questions, and nobody is available to clarify what is written on the ballot. So they do not vote. The language on many ballots is more like lawyer language, which can be confusing — “no” means “yes,” or “yes” means “no.” I would rather have the question worded simply, as in, do you want this, or that?

Voting can be very confusing. And what exactly is ranked-choice voting?
