‘Lunch with a Purpose’ Tuesday
OTISFIELD — A Lunch with a Purpose will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, 232 Rayville Road off Route 121.
Robin Greene, LCSW, Stephens Memorial Hospital, Martha McLain, attorney-at-law, Norway, and Pastor and RN Genise Stern will speak on “Advance Directives/Living Wills.”

Volunteers are needed for seniors
FARMINGTON — SEARCH (Seek Elderly Alone, Renew Courage & Hope), a program of Catholic Charities Maine, is looking for families, singles, retirees, college and high school students to volunteer a few hours a week to seniors who need a helping hand.
Volunteers are needed to help provide companionship, assistance with grocery shopping and errands and home and yard projects for senior clients who live in the towns of Jay and Livermore Falls to Farmington in Franklin County.
Seniors are waiting for volunteer help in the Livermore Falls, Farmington and Wilton areas.

Kite-flying group planning fly
NORWAY — A “Color the Sky, Kite Fly!” group will hold monthly meetings on weekends in Norway and surrounding towns, dates to depend on the wind. Time of kite-flying sessions will be from 1 to 4 p.m., meeting at area locations.

Cheering group to hold fundraiser dance
FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue Rec Cheering will host a fundraising dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, April 28, at the Farmington Elks Lodge.
There will be a cash bar, and DJ Haylstorm from HOT 104.7 will play a variety of music.

Community clean-up on April 29
A community clean-up day will take place throughout Rumford and Mexico on Sunday, April 29.
With the theme, “Let’s Clean Up Together,” organizer Tom Bourret said volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at the Rumford Information Center. People are asked wear bright colors or a safety vest. Some supplies will be provided or people can bring their own.
The rain-or-shine event will run until 11 a.m.
Bourret said the clean-up will include Route 2 from beyond McDonald’s in Rumford to Walmart in Mexico. But for families working on the clean-up, there will also be low traffic areas like streets and parks.

Church to sponsor class on growing sprouts
HARRISON — A Caswell Conservancy Center workshop will teach participants how to grow sprouts.
It will be presented at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29. It is sponsored by the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
There will be free samples and door prizes. All are welcome.
