FRYEBURG — Maine State Music Theatre will bring two shows — “Cinderella” and “I Love a Piano” — to Fryeburg Academy on Saturday, June 9, at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center.
“Cinderella,” part of MSMT’s Theatre for Young Audiences series, is at 2 p.m. Irving Berlin’s “I Love a Piano” is at 7:30 p.m. with an optional champagne reception at 6:30 p.m.
Based on a story by Charles Perrault, the Robin and Clark musical version of “Cinderella” tells the tale of orphaned and lonely Cinderella. Through whimsical music and audience participation, children of all ages are invited to join in the fun as Cinderella learns that beauty is an inner quality and dreams really do come true.
“I Love a Piano” follows the journey of a piano as it moves in and out of American lives from the turn of the century to the present. Along the way, the story comes to vibrant life with more than 60 of Irving Berlin’s most beloved songs, including the classics “Blue Skies,” “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” “Cheek to Cheek,” “Anything You Can Do” and “I Love a Piano.”
Tickets for Cinderella are $15. Tickets for “I Love a Piano” are $35. Premium tickets for “I Love a Piano” include a champagne reception at 6:30 and cost $55.
Tickets are available online at www.fryeburgacademy.org/pac or by calling 207-935-9232. The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center is at 18 Bradley St.
