Lewiston High School graduate Adela Kalilwa and a pair of Bates College athletes will compete at the NCAA Division III track and field championships later this week at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

The field for all events was announced Saturday.

Kalilwa, a sophomore at the University of Southern Maine, has qualified in the triple jump for the second consecutive year. The 2016 Lewiston graduate posted a season-best jump of 38 feet, 7.5 inches at the Last Chance Meet at MIT on Thursday.

Kalilwa is seeded 15th out of 22 jumpers in the triple jump.

Bates seniors Adedire Fakorede (Newark, New Jersey) and Katherine Cook (South Burlington, Vermont) also will be going to the NCAA championships.

Fakorede, a two-time All-American, will compete in the discus and hammer throws. This will be his sixth NCAA championships appearances.

He is the seventh seed (out of 20) in the discus, thanks to his New England Division III title-winning throw of 171-9. He is ranked 18th in the hammer.

Cook will compete in the 10,000-meter run as the 12th seed of 22 competitors. She earned her place with a team-record time of 35 minutes, 38.21 seconds, which earned her the NESCAC championship.

Cook also qualified in the 5,000-meter run. She ranks second in the nation in the event, but has elected to focus on one event, the 10,000-meter run, in her third and final NCAA championship meet.

The Division III championships run Thursday through Saturday.

Cook and Fakorede (discus) will compete Thursday. Fakorede will throw the hammer on Saturday, the same day Kalilwa competes in the triple jump.
