FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Regional Special Olympics meet was held at Jay High School on May 5. Victorian Villa residents and Adult Day Service clients were participants in the standing long jump, 50-meter race, 120-meter race, wheelchair obstacle course and softball throw. Each participant received a ribbon for each event they tried.
The barbecue dinner for the Special Olympics participants and staff was sponsored by the Veterans of Foreignh Wars of Jay. They served hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and soda.
The AmVets of Jay presented each participant with a Special Olympics T-shirt.
Victorian Villa participants included Walter Allen from Farmington, Sharon Macie from Mexico, Bo Cushman of Phillips, Louis Blouin from Rumford, David Flewelling of Hartland, Betty Guptill from Lowell, Cheryl Parker of Jay and Alice Hoyt of Rumford. For some this was their third straight year of participating.
