AUBURN — In honor of “Be Kind to Animals Week” from May 5 to 9, the Greater Andrsocoggin Humane Society is holding an essay contest with the theme, “What My Pet Means to Me.”
Essays will be judged in each of the following categories: elementary school, middle school, high school and adult. Three winners will be chosen in each category. All winners will receive a professional portrait of their pet.
Winners will be featured in the Humane Society’s newsletter and posted on the Web site.
Each submission requires a $5 donation. In addition to the essay, each entry requires a photo of the pet and the appropriate category of the author, name address and phone number.
