LEWISTON — The Central Maine Detachment of the Marine Corps League will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, Lisbon Road. Officers will be elected, and all members are invited. Writers’ Jam
LEWISTON — Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance will present an informal Writers’ Jam Session from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Mr. Paperback Cafe It is open to all genres and is free. Call 729-6333, or e-mail sarah@mainewriters.org, if planning to attend.
A table has been reserved for the group to gather at the café. Bring work and be prepared to read from it. The group will then discuss it.
Participants should contact the venue in case of questionable weather and subsequent cancellations.
The alliance will present “Drink, Art and Open Mike” at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Local 188, Longfellow Square, Portland. Hosted by Brunswick writer and lecturer Sherry Hanson, sign-up will start at 6:30. The event is open to all genres and is free. For information, call 729-6333.
