RUMFORD – Of the 833 acres being preserved at Whitecap Mountain, only 733 acres are owned by Bayroot LLC; the remainder are owned by another entity. A statement attributed to Marcel Polak of the Mahoosuc Land Trust in the July 18 and 19 editions should have noted that Bayroot sold 41,000 acres last year in Maine at an average price of $670 per acre.
