COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Rosario D. Jacques Jr., 69, formerly of Lewiston, died May 9 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was born Aug. 5, 1948, the son of Rosario D. and Blanche Plante Jacques Sr.

He attended St. Peter’s School, where he was a member of “Les Petits Chanteurs,” and was a member of the 1966 graduating class of St Dominic’s High School. He went on to graduate from Providence College and earned his master’s degree in international relations from Boston College.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving at his highest rank of chief warrant officer (CW2), assigned to various parts of the world, including Germany when the Berlin Wall came down. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, Claire Bouffard Jacques, who passed away Aug. 15, 1995.

He is survived by his daughter, Celeste Roggy, and her husband, Brian, from Overland Park, Kan.; granddaughters Victoria and Allison Roggy; son, Maurice Jacques, from Monument, Colo.; sister, Constance Chretien, and her husband, Roland Chretien; along with brothers-in-law Paul and Lorraine Bouffard and Roger and Yvonne Bouffard; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews spread throughout the United States and Canada.
