MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Raymond J. Landry, age 53, died unexpectedly at home May 17, 2018.
Ray was born to Joseph R. and Lorraine P. Landry in Lewiston on April 7, 1965, the fourth in line of six brothers. The family moved to Jay when he was just a year old, where he was raised and educated in the Jay schools until his graduation in 1983.
Ray, always the adventurer, spent the next several years honing his craft in hospitality; from working alongside his older brother, Paul, at the Bay View Inn in Bar Harbor, to working as an executive chef in Reno, Nev., while sharing accommodations with his younger brother, Tom.
Ray’s travels took him through Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, Illinois and Minnesota. Ray traveled to learn, grow and pursue his passion for all things hospitality. While in Florida, he met his wife, Annette, and together they raised four beautiful girls: Lauren, Teghan, Jessica and Noelle.
Most recently, the family had settled in Minneapolis, where Ray was the general manager of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Bloomington. Ray had a passion for his family and particularly enjoyed being a grandfather, as his face would light up when he would hear them say “Pop.”
He had a love of skiing, fishing, movies, culinary arts and spending time with his family. Ray will be remembered as an exceptional man who was admired by his staff, respected by his friends and loved very much by his family. Ray
will live on in our hearts, but missed will be his big smile, witty sense of humor and famous impersonations.
Ray was predeceased by his mother, Lorraine (Poulin) Landry; his maternal grandparents Annette and Antonio Poulin; and his paternal grandparents Fernand and Lina Landry, all of Lewiston.
He is survived by his wife, Annette, of Minneapolis; his four daughters: Lauren, Teghan, Jessie and Noelle; along with his five grandchildren; his father, Joseph R. Landry, and his wife, Lewella, of Saco; his five brothers: Mark and his wife, Jane, of Fairfield, Conn.; Paul and his wife, Kate, of Wales; John and his wife, Pat, of Auburn; Thomas and his wife, Michelle, of Readfield; and Tony and his husband, Richard, of Greene; along with 10 nieces and nephews.
