AUBURN — Robert A. McGraw, 84, of Lewiston died and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 13, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin with his wife, Rita, by his side.
He was born in Lewiston on April 28, 1934, the son of the late Lucien and Blanche (Morin) McGraw, and had been a resident of this community all of his life.
Robert graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School, Class of 1952. On Oct. 21, 1961, he married his lovely wife, Rita (Lavoie) McGraw, and they had four children along with four grandchildren.
He was owner and operator of Norris Towel Supply from 1973 until his retirement in 2011.
He was a member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council 12652 of Lewiston and a parishioner of Holy Cross Parish.
Robert was an avid New England sports fan. He enjoyed drives to the ocean with his family, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rita J. McGraw, of Lewiston; two sons, Roland McGraw of Benson, N.C., and Raymond McGraw and his fiancee, Kelly Turner, of Lewiston; two daughters, Rachel Stretton and her husband, William, of Auburn and Rona Michaud and her husband, Eric, of Wales; four grandchildren, Andrew and Alex Stretton, both of Lewiston, Katelyn McGraw of Benson, N.C., and Dominique Michaud of Wales; one brother, Normand McGraw, and his wife, Jeannine, of Lewiston; and by many nieces, nephews and very close friends.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Carmen St. Pierre and Madeline McGraw.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and their staff at the Hospice House of Androscoggin for the excellent care they have given to Robert.
