The Rev. Carol Stevens of the Rumford United Methodist Church will retire at the end of June. She has served the Methodist churches in Rumford, Rumford Center and Bethel since July 2010. She has participated in volunteer work at the Rumford Hospital, GRAMPS, Ecumenical church services, served communion at the Pinnacle Nursing Home, Salem Economic Ministry and volunteered at Camp Mechuwana. Her retirement will be celebrated between noon and 3 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at an open house at the Fellowship Hall of the Virgin Memorial Chapel on 455 Linnell St. in the Virginia section of Rumford. All are welcome to attend.
