FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Arts and Crafts Association will meet Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the North Dining Hall of the Student Center at the University of Maine at Farmington to make final plans for its annual Christmas crafts fair. Registrations for the fair and association dues will be accepted starting at 6:30 p.m. and a business session will begin at 7 p.m. New members and other crafters interested in participating in the show are welcome. The fair is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4, in the Student Center.

GOP meeting

LIVERMORE FALLS – Town Republican Committee Chairman Darryl Brown will host a meeting of Republicans at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Main-Land Development Consultants at 42 Church St. Brown said the local Republican Committee needs to begin its organization work to focus on future elections. Firefighters meet

JAY – The Franklin County Fireman’s Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Fire Station. There will be the regular business meeting and two short programs will be presented. Refreshments will follow the meeting and there will be a drawing for door prizes. All departments should be represented at this meeting. Any interested guests are urged to attend. Tumbledown

FARMINGTON – The Tumbledown Conservation Alliance will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in Ricker Addition 217 at the University of Maine at Farmington. The TCA Land Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. before the regular meeting. All are welcome.

Self-esteem course

FARMINGTON – Women, Work and Community will offer a six-week self-esteem class from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays from Nov. 17 to Dec. 22, at 108 Perham St. Suite A. Participants will learn ways to challenge old, destructive beliefs and nourish positives thoughts and feelings. Women, Work and Community is a statewide nonprofit organization committed to improving the economic lives of Maine women and their families. It provides training, advocacy and assistance in four program areas: workforce development, microenterprise development, asset development and leadership development.
